Crestwood United Methodist Church is located in Crestwood, KY just 5-10 minutes outside of Louisville, Kentucky. We are a growing church that averages 275 in worship with vibrant ministries for children, youth, young adults and families. Youth and young adult ministry is a priority for our church and for our community. We are committed to supporting youth and young adult ministry and the staff and volunteers that support youth and young adult ministry.
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Children’s and Family Minister, under the supervision of the Senior Pastor, and being responsible / accountable to the Staff Parish Relations Committee, provides primary direction and leadership consistent with the vision, mission and objectives for children’s ministry programs (0-fifth grade) at Crestwood United Methodist Church (CUMC)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
● Provide weekly programming that encourages faith
development.
○ Sunday Morning
■ Children’s Church at 9:01 and 11:11
■ Children’s Sunday School & Choir at 10:10
■ Oversee nursery staff
■ Pray Ground & Worship Activity Bags
■ Acolytes
■ Resource Volunteer Sunday School & Children’s Church
Leaders
○ Wednesday Evening
■ Dinner 5:30-6:15
■ Playground 6:15-6:45
■ Children’s Programming from 6:45-7:30
■ Oversee nursery & children’s ministry volunteers
● Provide regular (monthly) programming for children & family
faith development and outreach. Current programming
includes-
○ Sacraments Workshop, Easter Egg Hunt, Trunk or Treat,
Advent Workshop, Camp SOS (Summer of Service),
Vacation Bible School, Tween Retreats, Children’s Sabbath,
Children’s Musicals, etc
● Lead the Children’s Council Volunteer Team
○ Oversee a team of eight ministry volunteers that help with
the Children's Ministry.
● Other Church Responsibilities
○ Oversee Safe Sanctuary Program and Training for
Children’s Ministries
○ Staff Meeting Tuesday from 10:30-12:00.
○ Active presence & participation in worship services
○ Regular office hours & schedule
○ Communicate through the monthly newsletter, weekly
update and weekly bulletin.
○ Clearly communicate ministries to children, parents &
congregation.
○ Work with Preschool Director for seasonal Preschool
Chapel Services.
○ Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Supervision: Senior Pastor & Staff Parish Relations Committee
Compensation: $25 per hour 25 hours per week.

Recreation Minister -- Part Time

We are a growing church that averages 275 in worship with vibrant ministries for people of all ages. Recreation ministry is an outreach and fellowship priority for our church and community. We are committed to providing opportunities for our church and community to connect through recreation.
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Minister of Recreation under the supervision of the Senior Pastor, and being responsible / accountable to the Staff Parish Relations Committee, provides primary direction and leadership consistent with the vision, mission and objectives for recreation ministry programs for all ages at Crestwood United Methodist Church (CUMC)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
● Oversee and participate in Upward Basketball with Upward
Assistant
○ Season November-first week of March. Practice Monday,
Tuesday, Thursday evenings. Games on Saturdays.
○ Promotion & Registration
○ Organization of practice & game schedules
○ Communication with players, parents & coaches
○ Recruitment of Volunteers (coaches, referees, supervision,
concessions, scorekeepers, practice night hosts, etc)
○ Set up for game days
● Develop new recreation leagues and opportunities for
children, youth & adults
● Work in collaboration with Youth, Children’s and Adult
Ministries. Assist with recreation activities for youth &
children’s ministries.
● Sale league sponsorships to cover costs of leagues &
salary
● Overseen Recreation Budget
● Oversee the church & community use of the Gym &
Christian Living Center.
● Work in collaboration with preschool, children’s & youth
ministry to provide camp opportunities for children & youth.
● Work with fellowship ministries to provide monthly
opportunities for recreation and fellowship
● Resource church ministry leaders as they come up with
new recreational opportunities.
● Assist with worship services & church outreach programs.
● Attend weekly staff meetings on Tuesday from 10:30-12:00.

Compensation: $25 per hour–20-25 Hours Per week
