United Methodist Women's Circles
Crestwood United Methodist Women’s Groups
The United Methodist Women is an organization of women in the church and community that participate in missions and is a supportive fellowship. There are two circles that meet on different days to give women the opportunity to attend meetings that best meet their schedule. All women are invited to attend any circle.
Circles
Faith and Service Circle
Faith and Service meets at 10:30 AM on the first Wednesday of each month in Room 105/106 of the Educational Building. The meetings consist of a business portion, program or project, and are then followed by a potluck lunch. Programs may include a review of a book from the Reading Program, inspirational devotional, reading from our mission magazine, or working on a project such as making Christmas Stockings for the Dream Factory, making inspirational cards for patients at a local hospital, and collecting items for the Red Cross. For more information contact Betsy Price at 785-4228.
Mary Louise Guild
The Mary Louise Guild meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30PM. Meetings are generally held in the Christian Living Center (CLC). All ages of women are invited to attend. Our meetings include a brief business meeting, program or project, followed by dessert. We are a mission focused group of women involved in a variety of projects that support local and regional mission work such as collecting items for the McCauley House (women’s transitional home), making needed kits for UMCOR, hosting the Diamond Jubilee Luncheon for our senior citizens, and staying informed through guest speakers and book reviews from the UMW Reading Program. Each year our funds are used to help support some of the following missions: the Portland Center, Henderson Settlement, Versailles Children’s Home, Lighthouse Ministries, Red Bird Mission, South Oldham Interchurch Council, CUMC Emergency Fund and Wesley Manor. For more information contact Bobbie Stoess at 241-1088.
The Mary Louise Guild sponsors our Diamond Jubilee annually. This special luncheon celebrates those individuals who have reached their 75th birthday (or admit to it anyway) and their spouses. A luncheon is served, followed by entertainment. A good time is the one constant on the menu!
